As a classically trained chef with a taste for discovery and adventure, David Ortiz doesn’t settle for a typical office visit for his financial advising firm. With degrees and certifications from The Culinary Institute of America and Wharton School of Business, as well as more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, David has designed a unique practice that mixes his passions of food and finance.
The Financial Chef operates out of a state-of-the-art van featuring a full kitchen and plush seating, and he is happy to meet wherever it is most convenient for you. Imagine only having to step out of your driveway for a relaxed visit over a five-star meal!

David Ortiz, CFP®, RICP®, EA
Financial Advisor
Known as the Financial Chef, David Ortiz is dedicated to serving up recipes for financial confidence that leave his clients savoring life and the opportunities they long have craved.
David entered the financial services industry in 1998 and founded Financial Chef Asset Management nearly a decade later. With well over two decades of experience as a financial advisor, David is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®), and an Enrolled Agent (EA) who can offer both investment and insurance products to address any need his clients may have.
David earned his certificate from the Wharton School of Business and also is a classically trained chef from the Culinary Institute of America. At the Financial Chef, David blends his passion for food and finance by meeting with clients over a home-cooked meal, catering to their culinary and financial preferences and customizing menus ripe with ingredients for financial success.
A resident of Miami for more than 45 years, David also has a background in software development, and a strong interest in technology. He is always eager to learn about new tools and trends in technology to best serve his clients.

Krystal Ortiz
Chief Operating Officer
Krystal Ortiz is responsible for all operational aspects of Financial Chef Asset Management, from administrative tasks and organizational goal setting to client communications and quality of care.
Krystal joined the Financial Chef in 2016 after earning dual degrees in acting and psychology from DePaul University. She also is licensed in life and health insurance.
A resident of Chicago for more than 10 years, Krystal is the proud owner of a dachshund mix named Kiko. When she isn’t assisting the Financial Chef or its clients, Krystal enjoys acting, writing and fiber art projects.
